On this Independence Day in Annapolis, just a few stones throw from Spa Creek, along Back Creek, we cannot help but remember the important friendship and sacrifices of Lafayette and his troops during our war for independence. His troops were stationed at the Fort at Horn Point, and defended Annapolis from the British from a knoll overlooking Spa Creek, where the Eastport bridge now stands. French soldiers are buried in possibly several locations around Annapolis.

Let us take a moment to thank all of those who have laid down their lives for our country.
