An article I wrote called, “Lifting up the Voices of the Silenced” was published in the St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Annapolis, Maryland, my home church. (Read more about my spirituality here.)

St. Margaret’s Church has a “Parishioner Mission Grant” program that supports specific projects of parishioners that relate to the christian mission in general (e.g. healing the broken, serving the needy, and protecting the environment). I submitted a grant and was awarded funding to help me speak at a genocide scholars conference, this past June. (You can see more about my conference presentation here.) I wrote an article in the church newsletter which you can see below.

Now, you may be wondering, how does this connect to EmaBee? Well, part of my presentation explained about my Guatemala passion and work. I use EmaBee to support my Guatemala work through the “Guatemala Initiative” in order to raise funds to support the work of the Guatemala Human Rights Commission- USA. As you can see, pretty much everything I do circles back to the same passions and projects. Story of my life. This article might help you understand more of what is behind the “Guatemala Initiative”…
